Thanks so much for reading my piece. It’s funny, I wrote this a year ago, and although I still stand by the bulk of the article, there are a few tweaks I would make if I could go back in time (yeah I could just re-work it, but it’d be too time consuming).

The change I’d make is this: when I say “America is going to end”, I don’t mean that it’ll implode and vanquish all of us along with it. My opinion is, in the coming decades, the nation will be too indebted/dysfunctional/depleted to prevent states from leaving the Union. I very much believe in the strength and bigheartedness of our people in general. I just don’t think this 50 state conglomerate will last forever. I think the country will splinter off into several large nation-states. This would make it much easier for problems to be solved at the local level.

I think if the US continues to squander trillions of dollars and address critical problems as haphazardly as it is now, the states will be desperate to secede in order to resolve the manifold issues that are crippling it.

These are very, very educated guesses by the way, I’m not proclaiming to be a seer.
